Sharing the Road
Drivers benefit from Silver Line nearly as much as those who choose to ride. With continued growth along the US-131corridor, the anticipated passenger activity helps take pressure off the roads.
Cars and Silver Line can share the existing roadways. It’s one of the things that make implementing this mode of transportation attractive. Dedicated lanes will be used during peak hours of travel only, but during those times cars will not be able to use the lane--you will be able to turn right across it but not travel in it. If you’re driving on the same roads as Silver Line, there will be signage communicating when curbside lanes are dedicated to Silver Line vehicles. During these times, remember to respect these laws and stay in the cars only lane. It’s also important to stay focused on all traffic signals. Finally, be watchful of riders crossing at crosswalks.
Sidewalks will be unaffected by the addition of Silver Line.
